Project 4 | Surrealistic Parallax 

Lectures 

Mr. Fauzi did live tutorials so we can start on our project, The demos were clear, he always consult our work and gave advise to improve our work. 

Week 1 progress

In this composition i used two pictures, one of an egg, the other was the picture of the beach, I wanted to make the egg looks like is a part from the waves, I used Photoshop brush tool to achieve this design.

This composition contains a lot of layers and images. for the background I used a galaxy image with two planets blended into it, I masked the egg yolk with the selection tool and placed it over the mountains to look like  a sun, I also added clouds.

For the ground I used an image of a piece of toasted bread then masked the astronaut and placed it on the bread.

Feedback 

• Stick to the size given, make your composition in 1920|1080 art board.
• Use you own photography, at least 40% of the composition.
• Improve this composition, or came up with a new one and consult next week.

Week 2 progress 

After Mr. Fauzi's feedback I took some picture as you can see in the images below

I had this piece of broccoli in the freezer for month, so I used it for my next composition.

I used my phone to do the photography, the pictures were taken in day light in closeup shots so it's easier for me to mask the objects in Photoshop.

Final composition

For this composition I used 5 different layers

• The ground 
• The trees 
• The sun
• The mountains 
• the sky

As you can see I used the lemon as the sun in this composition, I applied the camera raw filter and edited the reds and oranges to match it with the sky color.

I added the mountains after I masked them, I matched the color of the mountains with the background (sky).

I used the broccoli as trees in this composition, i added an outer shadow and matched its color with the background and the ground, i duplicated and reflected the broccoli image to make two more trees.

Feedback 

Start with the animation and add music, then submit you composition.

Animation

I'm using Photoshop to make the animation, i created a video timeline which allows me to make key frames and change the position, dimension, styles and the opacity of any object.

the lemon will be moving down behind the mountains to look like a sunset.

the clouds will have a slight movement and a change in saturation as the sun goes down.

Final video

This composition reminds me of my home, that was my inspiration. I always watch the sunset at my place.
