In this Project we were asked to create a movie poster of a famous Hollywood movie, the final poster should be animated (minor animation).
The poster should be original and simple, the animation has to have a meaning so the observer can understand the topic brought in the movie easily.
I have chosen Deadpool as my reference.
My idea is to make a fan art of the main character.

Final poster Static After I was done with the illustration, I went ahead and started working on the poster. I used a yellow background and added an orange shadow to deadpool image to give it a three dimensional feel to it.
For the title and typography I used a bold font with a red color similar to the character’s suit, and made blood drops to the texts using the brush tool because the character tend to bleed a lot in the movie.
I added a famous saying of deadpool the below the headline to give a glimpse on the content of the movie.

GIF Animation
I decided to make the poster as simple as possible, The main character showing in the middle of the poster with a background and some typographical elements for the title and other information.
For the animation part, I’m thinking about making either the background move, or the character’s eyes make a gesture, like a blink for example, since deadpool is known of his cute and funny facial expressions.
The animation will express the mentality of the character, people will understand that this will be a funny movie.

For the animation I finally decided make the character look amazed because he always do funny facial expressions.
For that I used Photoshop, I masked the image of the character and applied the puppet warp tool, it was time consuming but I was able to achieve the result I wanted.
