Vormator Project

Fig 1.1 given shapes

Create a unique character using simple shapes using Adobe Illustrator.
we were allowed to duplicate, reflect, color, add textures and shades.
Transforming the shapes is not allowed in this project.

PROGRESS

I started to explore, by watching animated movies and playing some video games. Eventually, I was inspired to create a robot imaginary character. My inspiration was by the animated movie from the 80's "Castle in the sky " . the robot attracted me so I started sketching to develop it and create my own robot. Below are some of my sketches of the robot.

final
As you can see in the images above I did some rough sketches of my character I kept the robot concept and tried to modify the original robot from the movie castle in the sky to give it a personal touch.
After I was done with those sketches, I used Adobe Illustrator to make a silhouette of my character.
Below is my vormator silhouette.

Fig 1.7 Robot silhouette
This silhouette represents the overall shape of my character, I will use it to build my character, after this I will add details to this silhouette.
It was a little bit challenging since I never used this software before, but I managed to illustrate my idea using simple shapes. I'm still practicing so I can get used to the software and discover its features.

and color exploration

This is my final illustration of my character. I duplicated and arranged the shapes to give the character more details.
I did color exploration online, I used adobe color wheel to pick these colors, I've chosen four colors which reflect technology and robots in my point of view.
I used this image as a reference for color exploration.
